J.W. Morris & Co is founded as a druggist and wholesale distributor in downtown Shreveport, Louisiana.

Early Firearms Distribution
T.H. Morris, brother of J.W. Morris, advertises firearms, ammunition, and early sporting goods in the Shreveport Almanac for the Year 1854.

Dr. S.A. Dickson Buys In
Physician and druggist Samuel Augustus Dickson buys into the business which is renamed Iler, Morris & Dickson Co.
